«Shopping was never easier—profit NOW from our unbeatable 2021 products»
In the first phase of the work, textile objects were produced, combined and amended with used fabrics and leftover materials. In a second step, the pieces were styled and staged. As an homage to the continuous loop of products presented on teleshopping from the ‘90s, the result is a satirical tv shopping channel. On the set, actors and actresses present the objects of desire for sale in an entertaining format. Using an exaggerated aesthetic, the viewers are seduced—and made into accomplices. The topics of sustainability and our consumer habits in respect to textiles are presented in a tongue-in-cheek manner. TYvee Shopping is a work of critical and speculative design.
